Abigail & Jasper’s Wedding at Reverie at Diamond D
Some weddings stay with you because of the photographs. Others stay with you because of the people.
Abigail and Jasper’s was both.
Their wedding at Reverie at Diamond D in Normangee, Texas was full of emotion from beginning to end. There were so many happy tears throughout the day—the kind that remind me why I love photographing weddings in the first place. These aren’t just pretty events. They’re days filled with people realizing, all at once, just how much they love each other.
And somewhere along the way, Abby became more than one of my brides. She grew into a wonderful friend, which makes looking back at these photographs even more special to me.
The day had everything I love about a wedding: beautiful portraits, genuine emotion, plenty of laughter, and one of those Texas sunsets that seemed to show up at exactly the right time.
And then there was the dance-floor incident.
At one point, Jasper was dancing for Abby while she sat in a chair. What started as a very enthusiastic performance somehow ended with him accidentally knocking his new bride backward out of the chair.
Yes, she was okay.
Yes, it was hilarious.
And yes, I was photographing it. 😂
Those completely unpredictable moments are some of my favorites because you could never plan them if you tried. They’re the photographs that bring back not just what your wedding looked like, but what it actually felt like to be there.
Later in the evening, we stepped outside into the most beautiful golden Texas light. After a day filled with happy tears and nonstop celebration, watching the sun go down over the ranch gave us one of those quiet little pauses that wedding days don’t always give you.
Abigail and Jasper’s wedding was joyful, emotional, a little chaotic in the best possible way, and completely theirs.
And years later, that’s exactly what I want these photographs to bring them back to.
