Amanda & James’ Fairytale Wedding in Buffalo, Texas
Some weddings have a style you can describe in one word.
Amanda and James’ wedding in Buffalo, Texas was anything but ordinary — and that’s exactly what made it so much fun to photograph.
From the moment I arrived, the day felt completely their own. There were kilts, incredible food, a gorgeous glass tent, and one of the prettiest wedding dresses I’ve photographed: Amanda wore a soft pink gown that felt straight out of a fairytale.
It was romantic without feeling overly formal, unique without trying too hard, and full of personality from beginning to end.
A Dress Made for a Fairytale
Amanda’s soft pink wedding dress was such a beautiful departure from a traditional white gown.
The color was subtle and romantic, and paired with the setting and the glass tent, it gave the whole day this dreamy, almost storybook feeling.
It’s one of those details that instantly makes a wedding unmistakably theirs.
Kilts, Laughter & a Celebration With Personality
The kilts were another detail I loved.
They added so much character to the day and made the wedding feel personal rather than cookie-cutter. Between the attire, the laughter, and all the little moments happening around us, there was never a shortage of things to photograph.
Those are always my favorite weddings — the ones where the couple isn’t trying to recreate someone else’s Pinterest board. They’re just creating a day that feels like them.
And the Food Deserves Its Own Mention
The food was provided by my friend Chef TJay with Chefs at the Roundtable, and it was incredible.
Wedding food can sometimes feel like an afterthought, but not here. It was one of those meals people actually talked about, and having someone I know and trust behind it made the day even more fun to photograph.
Great vendors make such a difference on a wedding day, and this was definitely one of those teams.
The Glass Tent
And then there was the glass tent.
It was absolutely beautiful and gave the reception such an elevated, romantic atmosphere while still letting the outdoors feel like part of the celebration.
With the light coming through the glass, Amanda’s pink dress, the kilts, and everyone gathered together, the whole evening had this incredibly warm, magical feeling.
Amanda and James’ wedding was romantic, unconventional, and full of personality — exactly the kind of day I love documenting.
