Megan & Blake’s Wedding at Olde Dobbin Station

Megan and Blake’s wedding at Olde Dobbin Station in Montgomery, Texas was special to me before the day even began. They had actually won my wedding photography package in a raffle that was held to support a Leon County officer who was injured in the line of duty, and Blake is an officer himself. Getting to photograph their wedding after meeting through something so meaningful made the day feel even more memorable.

And memorable it definitely was.

It rained hard that day — the kind of rain that makes you rethink every outdoor plan — and at one point I was standing there with my camera wrapped in a dress bag trying to keep it dry. It looked ridiculous, but it worked, and we still managed to make some beautiful photographs in between the weather.

This wedding was also the first time I brought a film camera along specifically to capture a few extra images I could have developed and delivered the very next day. I wasn’t totally sure how they would turn out, but they came back amazing, and I immediately knew film was something I wanted to keep incorporating into wedding days.

One of the best surprises of the day was also getting to work with Monica from Monica Hurst Media. She was incredible to work alongside, and the kind of vendor who makes the whole day feel easier and more fun.

Through all of it — the rain, the laughter, the unexpected moments, and the beautiful chaos of a real wedding day — Megan and Blake stayed completely themselves. Those are always my favorite weddings to photograph.
