Larissa & Samuel’s Wedding at Dove Ridge Vineyard

Larissa and Samuel’s wedding at Dove Ridge Vineyard in Weatherford, Texas was one of those days where the sky seemed to change every five minutes.

We started with dark, dramatic clouds hanging over the hills, and for a while it looked like we might be in for a very moody evening.

Then the clouds began to break.

And somehow, by sunset, the sky turned the prettiest shade of pink.

It was absolutely worth waiting for.

Views for Days

Dove Ridge Vineyard has such a beautiful overlook, and the rolling hills made the perfect backdrop for portraits throughout the day.

There’s something about a venue with a wide-open view that makes everything feel a little more peaceful. Even on a busy wedding day, stepping away for a few minutes with Larissa and Samuel gave us a chance to slow things down and take in the scenery.

And then we headed into the vineyard.

Portraits in the Vines

The vineyard portraits were easily some of my favorites from the day.

The rows of vines, soft evening light, and the way Larissa and Samuel naturally settled into each other made the whole set feel romantic without feeling overly posed.

They are such a sweet couple, and that came through in every part of the day.

The best portraits usually happen when people stop thinking about the camera and start paying attention to each other, and that’s exactly what happened here.

Then Came the Pink Sky

After the dark cloud show earlier in the day, that soft pink sunset felt like the perfect ending.

We had this gorgeous color stretching over the hills, and Larissa and Samuel got to soak in one of those little wedding-day moments that somehow feels completely quiet even though the celebration is still happening around you.

Those few minutes gave us some of the dreamiest photographs of the entire wedding.

Larissa and Samuel’s day was romantic, beautiful, and full of the kind of unexpected light that makes every wedding completely different.
