A Wedding That Didn’t Take Itself Too Seriously

One of my favorite things about Molli and Jacob’s wedding was how much everyone embraced the theme.

There were costumes everywhere, guests having an absolute blast, and so many little moments happening throughout the day that I never had to go searching for something interesting to photograph.

Everyone was there to celebrate, have fun, and be part of this world Molli and Jacob had created for their wedding.

And that energy is contagious.

Some weddings feel formal and elegant. Others feel intimate and quiet.

This one felt like an adventure.

Moon River Ranch

Moon River Ranch gave us so much room to work with.

The property is huge, which meant there were plenty of different backdrops and spaces throughout the day. With a venue that large, it felt like every part of the celebration could have its own atmosphere while still being part of the same wedding.

It was the perfect setting for a wedding with this much personality.

The Best Photos Usually Happen When Everyone Is Having Fun

A themed wedding like this is such a good reminder that your wedding doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Molli and Jacob created something their guests would actually remember.

And from behind the camera, those are some of my favorite days.

When people are laughing, moving, interacting, dressed like characters, and completely committed to having a good time, the photographs become so much more than pretty portraits.

They become a record of what it actually felt like to be there.

Molli and Jacob’s wedding was whimsical, hilarious, colorful, and full of personality from beginning to end.

And I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
