Cameron & Tim’s Pirate-Themed Wedding at  Serwood Forest Faire

Cameron and Tim’s wedding at the  Serwood Forest Faire was easily one of the most unique weddings I’ve ever photographed. From the moment I arrived, it felt like stepping into another world — full of character, incredible costumes, rich colors, and so many fun details.

Their pirate-inspired wedding fit the Renaissance Festival atmosphere perfectly, but Cameron’s dress absolutely stole the show. Her black and gold wedding gown was dramatic, elegant, and completely unforgettable. Every detail felt intentional and completely true to them.

This wedding was especially fun for me because I actually go to Ren Fest myself, so this was very much my kind of day. I even wore my own garb to the wedding, which made the whole experience feel even more immersive and honestly just so much fun to photograph.

One of my favorite things about weddings like this is getting to photograph a couple who isn’t afraid to make their day their own. Cameron and Tim skipped the traditional expectations and created an experience that felt fun, romantic, immersive, and completely personal.

Serwood Forest Faire  gave us endless places to photograph — rustic buildings, winding paths, dramatic scenery, and all of the incredible textures and details that make the festival so recognizable. Between the pirate theme, the costumes, the guests, and the atmosphere, there was something interesting happening everywhere I turned.

And one of the sweetest parts of this wedding is that Cameron and Tim didn’t just become clients — over time, they became genuinely good friends. Getting to stay connected with couples after the wedding is one of the parts of this job I love most, and these two are such a good example of that.

Their wedding was proof that your wedding day does not have to look like anyone else’s. Whether that means a classic ballroom, a Texas ranch, or getting married surrounded by pirates at the Renaissance Festival, the best weddings are the ones that actually feel like you.

Cameron and Tim, thank you for trusting me with such an unforgettable day and for becoming such wonderful friends along the way. This will always be one of those weddings I remember with a huge smile.
